I was commissioned by Cornwall Council to design and paint this 26m long mural for the refurbished public toilets at The Green, Lemon Quay in the centre of Truro, Cornwall. When designing this piece which is a octagon shaped building I broke it down into 4 sections, we start with farming and nature at the front of the building where most people who are walking around Truro would see, from Lemon Quay you see the fishing and sea section, featuring the historical tall ships which used to frequent Truro, then as we go around the corner you see the cornish surfers and then we move into the final section of tin and china clay mining, this then ties back in with nature and farming. The mural took 2 weeks to paint and we had amazing luck with 2 weeks of sun while we painted it, the architects Lavigne Lonsdale did an incredible job with the refurbishment and design. This project is one of my proudest jobs I’ve done to date.
